For self-employed computer scientists, references have become more important during the recent years. I never payed much attenction on them, but meanwhile I agree, that they are useful. I didn't seek references for projects which only lasted 3 months or so. As well I didn't seek references from customers whom I needed to tell, that we'll go seperate ways.

Furthermore I am able to provide a few references, which I have hold back, because they meet the negative criteria described above.

Before you read on, I would like to say, that I really appreciate, to find professional leadership in the projects I am working for. It's not enough, if the management is capable of performing PMBOK or Prince II.

It is mandatory to be accepted as a human.
